Walker Lee Ashley played defensive end at Penn State through Joe Paterno's first National Championship in 1982. He was Captain of the team his final year, and was named an All-American that same season.
Though they faced the Heisman Trophy winner in Georgia's Herschel Walker, Ashley and the rest of the defensive front seven were stout enough to come away with the victory, holding Walker to just 103 yards and long of 12.
Ashley was drafted in 1983 in the third round by the Vikings, and played as a linebacker in Minnesota for six seasons.
