I e-mailed Mauti and Zordich last night and already have relpies from them. For Some reason the formatting on my email got all screwed up. It's not one huge paragraph like that it was broken up, but I don't really care enough to try and fix it on here. These two young are the leaders we need going forward.

MY LETTER: Michael and Michael, I'm a senior at PSU right now and I just want to say that hearing you talk about staying with Penn State and what that means filled me with so much pride for my school. I can't describe how much it means to us that you guys are not only staying with us, but being vocal about your pride in staying with us. Your attitude is perfect, and infectious. Speaking on behalf of my friends at school, this 2012 Nittany Lion Football team will be supported like no other. We're going to be there early, cheer till we lose our voices, and stay late. We're going to be LOUD, and we're going to be PROUD. We are so excited for the season to begin, where we can silence the pundits and the critics and let the pads do that talking. And you KNOW your pads are going to be doing a LOT of talking. The media and opposing players will be expecting to play a team that is dejected and depressed. They will find one that is determined and focused. The media and visiting fans will be expecting a student body that is disconnected and apathetic. They will find one that is united and passionate. I almost feel bad for the teams we play, for the hits they will receive and the plays that will be made at their expense. I almost feel bad for the opposing quarterbacks, who leave Beaver Stadium with ears ringing and head throbbing. I almost feel bad for ousiders who actually think that this great University cares more about football than acedemics. Almost. You are great leaders, and you are constantly making us proud. This whole team is. Listening to sports radio today, everyone was suprised by this team banding together and making such a statement. I'm not suprised, because you are Penn Staters. This team is a team of Champions to all Penn State fans, no matter what anybody else says. The hottest fires forge the strongest steel. Thanks for reading, I hope it has lifted your spirit as much as you've lifted mine. Joe Flannigan Senior, Mechanical Engineering Penn State UniversityTheir respective Replies: Zordich: |

THANK YOU. The support we have from all of you means so much to the team. We won't let this break us. We are going to go out every Saturday and show everyone what Penn State is all about. It's going to be a lot of fun. This is too special of a place to let any of this mess bring the University down. You guys are the force that drives us. We will make you proud, we promise.
Thanks again, Michael Z Mauti: Joe, First of all I want to thank you for the support of our football team and this great program. In times like these, it really makes us realize how special Penn State is and how much your support means to us. With great adversity lies great opportunity. We have an opportunity to create a new legacy here. I will share this with our team. Our loyalty lies ONLY to our teammates, coaches, and EVERYONE in the Penn State Family. Thank you for taking the time to show us your support, I can’t tell you how much that means. Tough times never last but tough people do. See You September 1st!
WE ARE
ONE TEAM
Sincerely,
Michael Mauti |
