A high school friend of mine who lives in State College indicated that parents were told that the school district is considring banning students from wearing any clothes associated with Penn State. Should this come to be, it is clearly a ridiculous move on the part of the school district and is something I would expect in California (akin to schoold districts banning pro-America gear on Cinco De Mayo so as not to upset Latino students), not State College. Perhaps BSDers living in the State College area have more information on this potential travesty and 1st Amendment violation. It astounds me how academics, in the NCAA and beyond have handled the situation with Penn State so poorly. In order to prevent further wrongdoing.....alumni and supporters need to remain vocal and keep pressure on the various institutions involved at all levels.
