Run, Henne! Run!

Defensive Tackle Jay Alford played for the blue and white from 2003 to 2006, and was a four year starter for the Nittany Lions. He was one of a number of Penn Staters from New Jersey, and came to college having been named first-team all-state.

While at Penn State, Alford played in 46 games, tallying 118 tackles (60 solo), 32 TFLs, and 19 sacks over his college career. He had four fumble recoveries, forced 3 fumbles, and had twelve passes deflected, being named an All-Big Ten player in 2005 and 2006. He was also named a third-team All American.

Alford was drafted by the New York Giants in 2007 in the third round, where he won a Super Bowl ring in his rookie season as a long snapper. He played for the Giants through 2009, then spent 2010 in Oakland and the 2011 offseason with the Seahawks.

Just a few weeks ago, Alford was signed by the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders, after reportedly getting himself back into football-playing shape.
