Sophomore Allen Robinson looks to be a major contributor on the 2012 offense; per Coach O'Brien on his August 16 teleconference, Robinson "has had a really, really good camp to this point, and he'll be a starter." This comes as little surprise to many, combining the departure of Justin Brown to Oklahoma and the dismissal of Devon Smith, now at Marshall, and Robinson having impressed in the 2012 Blue-White game with 87 yards on only three catches. Look for Robinson to also be a factor in the return game, though the head coach has not yet named who will return kicks come September 1.
As a true freshman in 2011, Robinson saw time in twelve games, notching three catches for 29 yards. He made his first career start at Wisconsin for the final regular season game of the year.
An high school teammate of former Nittany Lion Rob Bolden, Robinson came to Penn State from Michigan, where he also played basketball for Orchard Lake St Mary's Prep.
