I have never before posted on this board, aside from commenting, but some of the recent developments have made me want to express a point of view. Many people, I know will strongly disagree and continue to do so, but enough with the constant blasting of the transfers and recruits that have de-commited. I certainly did not want the team to lose 10 transfers to other schools, but unfortunately they are the rules given to us by the NCAA and Rodney Erickson's refusal to fight against it. I also did not want to lose blue-chip prospects, such as Dorian Johnson, or Ross Douglas.
However, we need to keep in mind that these are very young men that have dreamed their whole lives of playing for a National Championship, in the Rose Bowl, or any other bowl game for that matter. They are simply following the guidelines set in place for themselves. I have had enough of the "screw them" comments. If we truly want to say WE ARE PENN STATE, then this must stop. The values instilled by Joe Paterno, and this great university have been thrown away by many recently. Instead of blasting those players, we should praise those that have remained and shown character and loyalty beyond their years because if we continue to complain, make disparaging remarks and unfairly criticize the others, then we are not Penn State.
