Greetings BSD and fellow Penn Staters. It's that time of year: PSU football and our tailgate season are right around the corner. I have a feeling that we're all going to need a bigger dose of cocktail therapy this year in order to produce the necessary attitude adjustments, as well as, control anxiety levels. Here are three of my "just what the doctor ordered" suggestions!!!
Start with great, "real deal" lemonade. It's been said I make the best. The use of simple syrup, fresh lemon juice and a splash of lemon oil makes this the perfect cocktail base: I like it with citron-flavored vodka added to it, but, gin and club soda makes a great lemon-gin-fizz! The women in your lives will love this one!
"Stop. Right. Now... Before we go any further"... Just 'cause it's pink, does not mean this is for sissies! Lemonade and cranberry juice are the basis for copious amounts of light rum, kurant-flavored vodka and a splash champagne. Need I say more? This can and will get you laid by the dashboard lights! But, will you love me in the morning?
For the bloody morning after: Try my "Born Again Bloody Mary"! This has been the long-standing recipe of our tailgate group for over 30 years. Make them 2-3 days ahead of time... marination is my secret!
What happens when you have to deal with the Freeh Stooges (Louie, Mark and Rodney)? You need 3 drinks!!!

I encourage all of you to share some of your favorite therapeutic cocktail recipes here tonight! Let's kick off this season in style!!!
For The Glory,
