As I sit here at I work I find myself thinking about the level of QB play this year. So far I have been impressed. So, I decided to dig a little deeper and check out some numbers. My findings, Matt McGloin is setting himself up to have some of the best numbers a QB at PSU has ever accumulated. If his current pace of stats continues this season, I have laid out where he may end up in the record books. ( Note: The accuracy of these numbers are not a true reflection of the outcome of his real stats at the end of the year. Because sometimes my math is fucked)

McGloin -vs - Leader

Stats: Career Completion % = 55.2% -vs- Kerry Collins = 56.3%

Career TD Passes = 56 pace -vs- Darryll Clark = 43

TD's Season = 32 TD pace -vs- Darryll Clark = 24

Career Pass/ yrd = 3807 -vs- Needs 5304(Kerry Collins) to crack the top 5 all time

Career INTs(including 5 in one game) = 15 -vs- Todd Blackledge = 41

Consecutive game w/ TD pass = 4 -vs- Kerry Collins = 14

Season TD % = 7.69% pace 4th place -vs- Tom Shuman = 8.08% 1973

Season INT % = .9% -vs- Kerry Collins = 1.46%

Career TD % = 6.5% -vs- Galen Hall 6.76% tie for 5th all time (Elwood Petchel =9.14)

Career INT % = 1.74% -vs- Wally Richardson = 2.02%

Most 200 yd games in Career = 9 -vs- Kerry Collins/ Zack Mills = 16

Ok, I will stop there. But if you were to tell these things I would probably laugh. But now that I have seen the numbers, I think view him a little differently now. I always thought he was a decent QB. But i didnt think he would put his name in the record books. Now that he has an offensive minded coach it will help alot. I was also alarmed to have to reference QB 14 so many times and for that I am sorry. Here's hoping he keeps it up and we go undefeated the rest of the year!!
