I'm sure this has been thought of before,

but it appears obvious to me that the Freeh investigation was a cover up in itself by the BOT led by our illustrious governor (who should be impeached). Let's see. the BOT collectively and badly mishandled the events surrounding the biggest scandal to surface at a major university EVER. (For comparison's sake, keep in mind, the handling of a somewhat similar scandal at Syracuse by their BOT). Anyway, to demonstrate their good faith efforts, they hire their OWN investigative guy (Louis Freeh) to look into things. Miraculously, he finds no wrongdoing by any of the BOT or Corbett. (I refuse to address him as Mr. since he doesn't deserve it). He determines from the scantest of evidence and assumed suppositions that there was a cover up by the major players that had all given testimony at the Grand Jury. Hmm, what an interesting coincidence. Really makes you want to tell what you know, doesn't it?

I believe that Freeh was perhaps not directly instructed to.... but rather given strong direction to find things as he did so the powers that be (BOT and Corbett) were found to be totally innocent and within the right and just of their actions, sacrificing others to save their own asses.

I also believe that Emmert totally caved to media pressure when he handed out these totally unjust sanctions against a football program that did not cheat in any way, shape or form to win football games, recruit, or anything else related to athletics. He completely overstepped the NCAA's jurisdiction in this event.
