JoePa's legacy getting lost in BOB's success

Funny how nobody talks much anymore about Joe Paterno's statue.

Much like that 900-pound likeness the university removed last summer from outside Beaver Stadium, the late Penn State coach's legacy once seemed destined to endure forever. Now, almost a year after Paterno's death, it is melting away rapidly, like the last vestiges of a snowfall in spring.

Group plans vigil for JoePa

A group working to honor the memory of former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno in downtown State College has planned a candlelight vigil for next Tuesday in front of the landmark "Inspiration Mural" at College Avenue and Heister Street.

PSU Students Prep For Snow

The snow's falling in State College and covering some of the cars and streets.

Some [students] knew that the snow was coming, some had no idea.

[A freshman] says if he doesn't have to go out in the Winter weather, he won't.

"...If I don't have to go out I wont so I'll probably buy a lot of snacks and stuff tonight, and bundle up."

I don't think that JoePa's legacy is getting "lost."

However, it's still going to take time to restore his reputation and place his legacy in its proper perspective.
