Hey everybody. I just woke up from a 7 day coma. How's everything been? I heard Urban Myers changed his name to Squib Myer. Not sure why, but it has a nice ring to it.
Its over, most knew that with all the elements coming together on road and lacking an even playing field to the tune of more that 25 scholarships, that the OSU game could have been mailed in as a loss. But instead we went through with playing the game and now we must move on. The fact that we beat teams at the FBS level with 57ish scholarship players at all is awesome end of story. Looking ahead to this weekend Nathan Sausagehasse should look like he's moving in slow motion compared to what the defense just saw out of B.Miller. The receivers should look like they're wearing concrete boots, and Illinios's defense should be pushed around by our big uglies. The point is, our team of 57ish scholarship players plus the run-ons just saw the best the conference has to offer. Almost everyone else we matchup against at almost every other position this season will be slower, smaller, dumber, less athletic, and less douchier (save Tim Beckman) than O$U. So if the team buys into that message we have a chance to improve. If we sulk and whine things could get ugly. Looking at the next 4 weeks there's a chance to pull off 4 straight (it'll still be tough given everyone else has full rosters and we're not playing very well on the road, but its plausible). We're still at where most people expected us to be at this point in the season (I'm guessing most had 2 or 3 losses on their season predictions after the O$U game). We may have lost to different teams than originally predicted or lost in such a fashion that leaves a bad taste, but whether you drive the green and 3 putt or you get it up and down from the sand to save par it's still the same score. In the end let's just focus on getting through this season intact shall we and if we hit our success goals (6-8 wins) even better. Hang in there, get these recruits home safely, and focus on the remainder of the season.
