I found out recently that I have tomorrow off work due to some scheduling quirks in my already very quirky schedule. So being that I live in Green Bay, I decided I'm going to make a last-second trip to Madison for the game.
However, I have a few problems. Most stem from knowing nothing about Madison or the gameday experience at Madison. I could ask Badger fans, but I've found sometimes it's helpful to ask fans who have had experience with coming into town as an opposing fan who isn't intimately familiar with things.
1) Do people even tailgate there? Are there big open places where this takes place? Has PSU irrevocably ruined me on tailgating experiences? I know the PSU alumni association has said something about a Lot 60, but it looks WAY far away from the stadium. But it does look to overlook the lake as well, so, idk. /shrug. That's why I'm asking for advice.
2) Should I forget tailgating and just do the bar scene? And speaking of bars, any to avoid/seek out?
3) Is getting tickets in the student section a great idea or the greatest idea?
I also have no idea where I'm sleeping, but I'm not letting a detail as simple as that stopping me from having a good time and seeing Madison and Camp Randall for the first time.
Thanks any advice :)
