Let me start by saying if this is not the correct place to put this I apologize. I have been following this site for years without posting much but enjoying the banter among the many that are regulars. I barely ever read Greg Doyel but the subject of the article made me go against my usual judgement. This was written today about John's accomplishments and mentioned his going to speak at a Middle School in Pittsburgh. I reached out to him through a former student who met with him often so that he could help her in math. She was a senior math student and he was a freshman in the same class. Without hesitation he said let's do this. His message to the 6 different groups of kids totaling 900 kids in all was absolutely amazing. His message was simple shoot for the moon as long as your work ethic meets that goal, when you are passionate about something don't let someone tell you it can't be achieved, and he had some truly inspirational stories about growing up and his family. I knew he was a special person but getting this opportunity to see it in person and hear it being told to 11 - 13 yr olds only made my appreciation for him and what he stands for transcend to levels I did not think were possible. I have attached the article which is surprisingly from Doyel nice. Sorry again if this should be in the fan shots but like everything I read no one cares about the fan shots.
