Okay, so I ordered tickets for the Croke Classic off of Ticketmaster.ie (the Ireland version). I placed the order Sunday and was surprised to find them on my doorstep Wednesday, so I am now in possession of actual tickets.
If you want to do the same, make sure you get tix on the Cusack Stand side, it's the PSU side.
Now comes the fun part, the planning.
I was looking into flights and from Central PA, flights out of SCE are too long and too pricey. The airport choices are DC, Phil, Pit, NYC. The most direct flight is from JFK, about 7 hours non-stop. I was able to find a pair of seats for $1602 roundtrip. Does anybody have any other ideas on flights?
I am still debating what to do whilst there, besides getting fat on food and Guinness. I'm debating about how many days to spend in Ireland, do we hop over to Scotland and England for a couple of days?
I priced a 10 day/9 night trip and came up with about 1490 E or about $2000, with manual transmission car included.
So, I am looking at $1600 flight, $2000 accommodations, $180 for the tickets, plus food, beer and spending, or $4000 plus for 10 days/9 nights.
If you have any ideas to share, please do so.
