Any other alumni confused on why there is such pushback regarding State Patty's Day?
I fully understand binge drinking can be very dangerous, although I firmly endorsed the practice over the years. How is State Patty's Day that different from New Year's Eve, Art's Fest or even a big-time PSU FB game at 8pm? On those traditional party days tons of people from outside PSU converge and become drunken fools. (alumni included)
IMO, the idea of shutting down or restricting bars is enabling the "F U mentality" and motivates people to be bigger a-holes. Telling a student 18-22 NO will only get the opposite response in most cases.
Some advice from Uncle STL:
- Get hammered
- No pictures that can be used as evidence
- Get lucky (don't knock her up, unless if she is rich)
- Be safe...DON'T DRIVE
- If stopped by a cop, say sorry Sir...I am a drunk fool...my fault
- Have fun!
