Joel Myers posted an email today, asking the NCAA to do the right thing, on their own. I replied to his email, and copied the BOT. Here's my take.

Joel,

Thanks for the update. Your consideration and attempts to make this situation right are to be applauded, but........think about this.

Jerry is in jail, PSU alumni are in purgatory, and the BOT, having abrogated PSU's rights to any pretense of legal standing, can no longer do anything to help us.

It is no accident that PSU no longer has legal standing in this matter. (Thank goodness the Paterno Family still does.We all look forward to them taking action at an appropriate time.) The BOT was a major player in this tragedy, depriving the university of any legal rights in this matter by accepting NCAA blackmail, and forever damaging the good name of our beloved alma mater.

It is totally without rancor, and in the spirit of friendhip, that I suggest that you could show some leadership by asking ALL TRUSTEES INVOLVED WITH THIS MATTER to do the right thing, and step down.

Prior to this crisis, the Board of Trustees was a group of people who clearly did not contribute to the oversight of the management of the university in any meaningful way. When faced with a crisis, the BOT did not have the means or the will to handle it, and failed to perform. PSU is worse for the actions/inactions of this administration, and you folks don't seem to want to look in the mirror and do what is best for Penn State.

As with the football team, new blood is needed to move forward.

Thanks for your service. I am sure you did your best. Too bad this stuff happened. Now, please take a leadership role to get these folks out of our sight, and allow a fresh crew of upper-class twits to come in and try take us forward.
