The NJ defensive end sent in his LOI at 7:03 this morning

Garrett Sickels became the first official member of the Class of 2013, faxing in his Letter of Intent three minutes after the signing window opened up this morning.

Sickels, a defensive end prospect out of New Jersey, gave Penn State his verbal commitment back in March after garnering offers from schools ranging from Rutgers to Florida. While being a defensive line prospect, Sickels can play as a stand-up outside linebacker as well. Sickels was named a U.S. Army All-American for the 2012 season.

In addition to being a great on the field talent, this photo of him from the Rivals site shows he could be the hair replacement for Shane McGregor that Penn State needs at this time.

OMGSTARZ:

247Sports: Four stars (#6 NJ prospect in composite)

Rivals: Four stars (#101 overall prospect)

Scout: Four stars (#26 DE prospect)

Welcome to Happy Valley, Garrett!
