As some of you may or may not have figured out due to his recent lack of posts, former BSD head honcho Jeff "Junny" Junstrom has decided to hang up his blogger hat and join the ranks of you fine folks.
Junny wanted to go out with little to no fanfare, but, us being us, we couldn't let him. See below for a few tributes from some staff members, and leave your well wishes for Junny in the comments.
From all of us at BSD, Jeff, to you: thanks for everything, we'll miss you, and we'll most definitely see you around.
"How do I say farewell to my fellow elder Black Shoe Diaries statesman? We've warred over"stars". We took over a podcast from two fantastic hosts and made it our own. We've (well, Jeff only, really) enjoyed countless Miller Lites together.
"It's been a long and winding road, and we couldn't have made this community the kind of place it is without him. We'll move forward with others in his stead, but he won't be replaced. Godspeed, my friend. Let's hope he doesn't forget to stop back in and say hello."--Adam
"As many of you know, I was an avid BSD reader and commenter before I joined the staff here. As a reader, I always appreciated Junny's voice (even if I didn't always agree with his premise), and I was excited when he came back to BSD after the first Mike's retirement.
"I'll always be greatful to him, not just for offering me a position at BSD, but for his guidance and trust and helping me attempt to find my voice here. He had faith and confidence in me, even when I didn't have it in myself. And I'll be forever indebted to Junny for that.
"Thanks for everything, Junny; you'll be sorely missed on BSD, and in the PSU blogverse. We hope to see you around, online and in the comments, and even with a spare guest post here or there--BSD will always be open to you, if I have anything to say about it.
"I still haven't met you...but when I do, I'll owe you a beer."--Cari
"I've been a fan of your work for years, but getting to be your colleague, peer and friend this past year has made me feel very fortunate. You're a talented guy who will leave some very big shoes to fill. I hope we can continue to work together in some capacity, and will always appreciate your faith in me. Thanks for all your great work over the years, for your patience as I tried to learn as much as I could during my first year at BSD, and for all the laughs."--Jared
If you have anything to say to Jeff, please leave it in the comments. We will hold him captive until he reads every last word.
