The Nittany Lions continued to impress and make us proud at the ASICS University nationals in Akron, Ohio. Three Penn State wrestlers took first: Nico Megaludis, David Taylor, and Ed Ruth. Matt Brown lost an early bout but came back to take third. Additionally a former Penn State wrestler and current Clarion Golden Eagle Sam Sherlock took first in the tournament that set the United States team for the world champions this August over in Russia.
So that's pretty awesome. Three champs, a 3rd, and a former wrestler takes first as well. I am guess that Sam Sherlock may be wrestling for the Nittany Lion club like the other four guys.
Other titlists include Andrew Howe of Oklahoma, Tyler Graff of Wisconsin, James Green of Nebraska, Justin DeAngelis of Oklahoma, Micah Burak of the Penn Quakers, and Tyrell Fortune of the Grand Canyon Wrestling Club.
If there was a team title, I am pretty sure the Nittany Lions would have taken it easily.
