Only Mike Yancich Until Penn State Football

33 Days!

Mike Yancich's Penn State career didn't quite turn out the way he, or anyone else, would've hoped. When Yancich committed to Joe Paterno, it was alongside teammate Mike Zordich, and yet while his Trinity High School compatriot became a starter and fan favorite, the other former top prospect never started a game for the Lions in his five years. But that doesn't mean he didn't make an impact. A depth-and-special teams contributor for four years, and a leader in the clubhouse, Yancich was a captain for last year's famed bunch of "fighters," and made a key play in the Ohio State game, recovering a blocked punt in the end zone for Penn State's first score.
