Former Penn State greats Tamba Hali and Cameron Wake (who went by Derek during his time as a Nittany Lion) received an early Christmas present as both were selected to the Pro Bowl. The two defensive standouts have been among the top pass-rushers in the NFL this decade. Hali received his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl bid, while Wake will be playing in his fourth Pro Bowl in the past five seasons, and third consecutive.
Wake, a defensive end with the Miami Dolphins is currently tied for eighth in the NFL with 12 sacks on the season, with one more regular season game to play. He also has collected 33 tackles and three forced fumbles. Hali, a former All-American and first round draft selection by the Kansas City Chiefs, has 6 sacks to go along with 57 tackles and three forced fumbles. The Chiefs are currently 8-7 with an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs with a victory on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
The Pro Bowl will be played on Jan. 25, 2015, which is the weekend between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl. The Pro Bowl will take place in Glendale, Arizona, the same location as the 2015 Super Bowl.
