There are a variety of topics that we at MMQB could've covered with regards to Penn State football, and last week's signing day. One of them we'll tackle in a roundtable here on BSD later on this week, but in the meantime, we're going to go broad:
What was the one thing about Penn State's Signing Day that surprised you, good or bad?
For me, the biggest surprise was how little PSU lost in the coaching transition, and how much new head coach James Franklin was able to bring to the table with such relatively little time. It bodes well for future recruiting classes, and if this staff has a full year (rather than simply a matter of weeks) to bring in a class--the rest of the Big Ten, and the entire east coast, should begin to watch its backs. Franklin has openly stated that he was unhappy with ending up third in the Big Ten in recruiting, despite finishing with a top 25 class, and we all know that football coaches are a competitive bunch.
Here's looking at you, Urban Meyer.
What say you all?
