B1G conference ice hockey tourney starts today in Minnesota, on the ice where the NHLs Minnesota Wild play.
All 6 teams compete in the tourney, with the top 2 seeds receiving a bye. Teams are attempting to gain the auto bid from the B1G into the NCAA ice hockey tourney, which contains 16 teams and has its Frozen Four in Philly next month. Teams who fail to earn the auto bid can hope for a coveted at large bid.
Penn State finished the season 7-25-2, 3-16-1-0 in the B1G. Two of their conference victories came against today's opponent , Michigan, the other in the season finale, Ohio State.
Michigan finished the season ranked #13, 18-12-4, 10-8-2-1 in the B1G. They scored 68 Gs in league play, more than any other team.

Zach Nagelvoort-played 3 of the 4 games vs PSU, and got the goal in 23 games. Steve Racine saw the net in 13 games.
Balanced scoring has 5 players with 11 or more goals. Expect to see JT Compher, Andrew Copp and Luke Moffatt on their PP and Michael Downing and Derek DeBlois in the penalty box.
