Tim Settle (five-star), Sterling Jenkins (four-star), and PSUTim Settle, a five-star DT out of Virginia, will visit PSU this weekend. Settle is the composite No. 1 player in Virginia, and is James Franklin's first consensus five-star visitor (that I can think of) at Penn State. Ohio State, Alabama, and Virginia (who took two five-star players in RY14, so don't sleep on the Cavs) are the leaders at this point for Settle. CJF has been riding some early success, but if he wants to compete with the major recruiting powers, this will be an early test. Settle is being recruited by Brent Pry and Sean Spencer.
Additionally, Sterling Jenkins recently trimmed his list to two, naming Ohio State and Penn State as contenders. Chris Adamski, PSU beat reporter for the Pgh Trib-Review, reported that Jenkins' HS coach told Adamski that "PSU is [Jenkins'] No. 1." So there's that. Jenkins will be another high-profile battle with the Buckeyes. (And for some laughs, check out the comments from the Pitt 247 site on Jenkins' list-trimming.)
My uneducated guess is that Franklin ends up going one-for-two on these guys (Jenkins), but the fact that Settle is even coming to PSU is big for CJF. Beating out Rutgers and Pitt is fun, especially for high-profile recruits from areas near either of those schools. But CJF is setting his sights high.
