So now that it's officially summer, it seems appropriate for the summer book thread. Now that hockey and pumpkin ball are over and football is a long ways away, I need some other form of entertainment. After reading quite a few of the books suggested last year (personal favorites being Matterhorn and Devil in the White City) how about some more suggestions? Or feel free to request suggestions for a particular genre if you're looking for something new to read.
To get it started, here's a pretty wide array of books I'd recommend:
A Season on the Mat: Dan Gable and the Pursuit of Perfection
The Lost City of Z
Mudhoney: The Sound and the Fury from Seattle
The Border Trilogy (All the Pretty Horses, The Crossing, Cities on the Plain)
The Friends of Eddie Coyle
Although of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip With David Foster Wallace
