So, I live in China, and my dad has recently decided to downsize and get rid of cable TV. He has been hosting my sling box for the past 10 years, so now I am without a way to watch Penn State football games. Well, not entirely true, I do have BTN2Go international, but if you want to watch a game live, BTN2Go Int'l servers can't seem to support the number of subscribers and you can only watch the game half of the time and the bandwidth/picture quality is poor to make it almost unwatchable.
So I am talking to my sister to have her host my sling box, but she doesn't have cable either (TV not big in my family) so now I am looking at subscribing to cable for her. Millions do this, but from my understanding, cable is one of the most frustrating purchases you can make. so I need help on following:
1. DirectTV vs Dish - these seem to be the only cable/satellite carriers that have BTN in New Mexico (kid sister lives in NM)
2. Do you have to uograde to better package to get additional BTN channels - like BTN has several channels to broadcast multiple games during same time slot...Direct doesn't even list BTN on its packages, but they say they have it...strange
thanks!
