So we're starting a new league, and I'm trying to piece together all the best rules from all the different leagues I've ever played in over the past ~20 years. Ideally this will be a long-term investment (buy-in will be 150+), so I want to make sure we get the rules right at the outset. It will be a 12-team PPR league with a kicker/defense/special teams combo (because who wants to waste an extra three rounds at the end of a drunken Thursday night on trying to figure out what kickers are left?). Here are a few things we have discussed so far:
- Basic PPR scoring with a depleted scoring value for defenses
- 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1KDEF and 1FLEX to start, with an additional 6-7 roster spots for a 15-16 round snake draft
- Blind bid waiver wire
- To encourage long term franchise ownership, up to two players can be kept for one extra year in a modified keeper league rule. Any player kept will take the owner's first (and second, if two are kept) round draft pick the following year, and can only be kept for one year.
What rules do you use that you really like? They could be scoring rules, draft rules, unique prizes awarded to the champ and/or last place, or anything else.
