There's a fairly strong consensus that for Penn State Wrestling to earn a 5th consecutive National Championship and continue chasing Dan Gable's 9 straight, the Alton twins must return healthy & beast. If they do, and with Ohio State, Iowa, Minnesota & Cornell reloaded for bear in this post-Taylor/Ruth landscape, the NCAA tourney could be hotly contested and every point could be crucial. Scaff covered Penn State's relative surplus at a weight where Nico Megaludis has scored a bunch of points the past three tourneys: 125 pounds.
Fans and coaches are very confident in Nico's backup, Jordan Conaway, who's been wrestling very well at 133 pounds the past two years. Many expect he has the ability to also make the All-American podium and we've been happy enough with the possibility that Conaway can ably man the weight these next two years, while Nico takes an NCAA Redshirt this year and a possible Olympic Redshirt next year.
HOWEVER!
Yesterday Nico tweeted this tweet, which is either meaningful, cryptic or a huge tease, depending on resultant behavior and perhaps your point of view.
So pumped to get everything rolling again at Psu this year! It's going to be an awesome year!!! #pumped

Since this is the internet, and since I'm interested in reading your points of view, I got us started with interpretation possibilities in a little tweeter convo with the 717's greatest pharmacist. Also, I tied an onion to my belt, as this appears to be the style of the day.
So. Nico. Either dude finally decided he'll be competing this year, or he's a clever little teaser.

@jtothemfp He could just be excited to be back in State College since classes start Monday
— Jordan Taylor (@JMTaylor12) August 22, 2014
@JMTaylor12 let's parse it, shall we? Begins with 'So pumped' and finishes with '#pumped' NBD, right? Like you said, could be #Pumped4Class
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
@JMTaylor12 Next, the action words 'to get everything rolling,' then the locus 'at PSU this year.' The latter was gratuitous b/c...
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
@JMTaylor12 well, none of the Nico Disposition Theories out there included whatever he might do being somewhere *other than* Penn State.
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
But the 'to get everything rolling' part could be more meaningful. Rolling is often used in reference to the mats.
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
'It's going to be an awesome year' is of course innocuous with no context. But when the context is ....
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
whether Nico wrestles Nittany Lion Wrestling Club or Penn State University then... we still have no answer what it means.
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
So what do you guys make of that? Is he teasing us, and just intends to wrap up class and get rollin on Freestyle? Or has he decided he wants to come after Delgado & Nahshon? Whatever it is, here's my final #takes:
Also, gotta admit. While I do enjoy a slight fan preference for Nico to shirt, zero in on Rio, & come back 2017 tourney, roll Conaway 2yrs..
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
I wouldn't have any problem at all pouring myself into backing Nico comin right for Nahshon & Delgado, with one last chance.
— Ignatius J. Reilly (@jtothemfp) August 23, 2014
No sir, none. Zero problem with that.
