James Franklin shared at Big Ten media day that junior defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and redshirt sophomore running back Journey Brown were both suspended for the summer for a “violation of team rules.”

Journey Brown was also suspended for the summer for a violation of team rules according to Franklin https://t.co/kQiOshuSpS

As the Daily Collegian pointed out, Gross-Matos will return to normal team activities on August 1, and it is assumed that Brown will return on that date as well.
Franklin did not delve into deeper details on why the two were suspended, and he also declined when asked if they could miss games because of the suspensions, according to Tyler Donohue. With Penn State opening up against FCS Idaho, it surely wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Gross-Matos and Brown in sweats for that game.
