Penn State got some good news today, as Binghamton transfer Sam Sessoms verbally committed to play for the Nittany Lions. Sessoms was the America East leading scorer last season at 19.4 points per game.
Sessoms’ versatility would help in an area of need, as the Nittany Lions would lose Jamari Wheeler after next season. If Sessoms is able to play right away, he’ll be with Penn State for the next two seasons, while sitting out would put him on the floor for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.
Sessoms’ ability to drive to the basket has been an area where the Nittany Lions could have used some help this season, so having his ability to shoot from all over the place (and his 81% free throw shooting to go along with it), can only help.
Last, but not least, getting another Philly guy in the locker room can only help keep the pipeline alive.
Welcome to Penn State, Sam!
