Nittany Lion mascot arrested for DUI the night before the MSU game!

Link (pops)

Local Harrisburg radio 580am is reporting he was arrest at 3:15am the night before the MSU game on campus for a DUI. The charges were filed today.

Pretty funny if you imagine him getting pulled over in the costume, with the police asking him to step out of the car and about 8 beer cans come spilling out of the car. Maybe it's just me.

A Nittany Lion secondary that had sagged during the late drive that would lead to Iowa’s game-winning field goal last week was given the green light to play aggressive man-to-man defense on Indiana’s overmatched receivers, and made the most of it. Several of Lewis’ throws sailed over the heads of players standing along the sideline.
Of course, petitioning defensive coordinator Tom Bradley to install man coverage instead of zone is nothing new for the defensive backs.
"We ask consistently, like every other day," said cornerback Tony Davis, laughing. "We always go back and forth, he gives us reasons why we shouldn’t."

For now, we will leave the site and the archives up as a testament to the fact that if you work hard enough, and blow off enough social occasions, and stare at the internet enough, and get nerdy enough, and repeatedly ignore entreaties from your friends and loved ones to please God stop blogging about Bill Plaschke and get out of the house it's a beautiful day!, then you, too, can...have a blog.

[Kevin HD: I know this isn’t Penn State related, but it is blog related and because this is a blog I’m including it. FJM is dead and in a lot of ways that is sad. They set the standard for tearing apart crappy journalism and I have to say that without their influence I wouldn’t be able to post the annoying critiques I do today. 1000 cocktails for you, sirs!]

[ PITTSBURGH ]
FEMALE. Pittsburgh is a tomboy. She obviously grew up in the neighborhood and isn't going to take any guff from anyone and she'll wallop you in the eye with a crowbar if you suggest different. So don't. Think Tina Fey type.

[BSD - Crowbar = Tina Fey? Pitt maybe, not Tina Fey. Feel free to write your own stereotypical description of a Pitt Fan in the comments.]

Tate, Iowa's starter from 2004 through 2006, wasn't lacking a Big Ten co-championship and a first-team all-Big Ten honor either. He also had a competitive fire, an excellent football mind and a quick temper. Put those traits with the confidence and you had a quarterback who quickly grew impatient and who had the knowledge to solve the problem.

Sophomore Ricky Stanzi isn't quite there.

In Saturday's 27-24 loss at Illinois, Stanzi was forced to call timeout twice and was hit with a delay-of-game penalty when he had trouble deciphering the signals from the sideline.

On a third-and-6 from Illinois' 8, Stanzi called timeout when the play clock, which is set at 40 seconds this season, drained to single digits as the Hawkeyes made it to the line of scrimmage. First-and-goal from the 5 in the fourth quarter, it happened again. In the third quarter, the Hawkeyes ran out of time for a 5-yard delay of game penalty, pushing the Hawkeyes to their own 4 and a hopeless third-and-21 situation.

Penn State, which also has remaining games with Iowa, Indiana and Michigan State, hasn't won in Columbus in 30 years.

Quarterback Daryll Clark, who is from Youngstown, hopes to put an end to that losing streak against the Buckeyes.

"It's everything that you dream for when you come to a Big Ten school and you're from Ohio," he said. "And you're going down into the horseshoe and that's one of the most hostile places to play in.

"With everything working and the weapons we have and the coaches and all the other players we have we are very confident that we can go in there and weather the storm and actually get a win."

There is a strong rumor going around at PSU that Joe Paterno is announcing his retirement tomorrow and they are naming Tom Bradley the coach. Anyone have anything to match up with this? Also there is supposed to be a fly over.

Former Penn State junior cornerback Willie Harriott has been found not guilty of driving with a suspended license. During a summary trial, District Judge Jonathan Grine found Harriott not guilty because of a lack of evidence, according to his attorney, Kelley Gillette Walker.

Lack of Evidence? Ummm was he driving the car or not?
