Paterno Road Rage Update
The guys at Laschout.com have an insider update on the alleged road rage incident with Joe Paterno last Friday.
So Joe Paterno is now the dispenser of vigilanty advice stopping evil doers from stopping on crosswalks all across Centre County. No doubt this is coming from someone inside the program, so you can assume this is Paterno's version of events.
So on one hand we have two people saying Paterno was flipping them off with both hands acting like a raving lunatic. On the other hand you have Paterno saying he was politely pointing out to the woman that she nearly caused an accident. Who to believe?
As in most cases, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. But even if you take the word of the supposed "victims", I can't see anything coming out of this. According to them he got out of the car, flipped them off, and screamed at them. He didn't kick in their fender or threaten to kill them. The police are not going to pursue something this trivial.
Still, BSD suggests Joe go back to walking to work like he used to in the old days. Or perhaps he could take the Loop. Or maybe he could get the shuttle bus from the Senior Center to pick him up. But 80-year old people should probably not be driving cars. Heck, as thick as his glasses are he probably should have given up driving decades ago.

Well...
Hopefully this goes to rest so we can focus on Wisconsin this week. Have we even discussed this game yet?

Hmmmmm
How does Paterno "confront" the woman when she is driving the car in front of him.
He has to stop the car in front of him somehow to talk to the driver.
How would he go about this?
And how can it be brief when there was enough time for someone to report the confrontation and for the campus police to arrive? And why would the campus police arrive at all if this were a brief "civil" conservation.
This version cannot satisfy an objective investigator.

Yes...
And if you witness someone else "almost" cause an accident, but they don't....so what? We've all "almost" caused accidents, and don't expect other drivers to pin us down with their cars to get out and say anything to us. At most, you take down the plate and call cops. Sounds like someone has lost it...

OOO
I'm not sure if you have access to the Pens on a regular basis, but they're a blast to watch, and get this Nittany Lion fan through those tough winter/spring months. When you consider hockey players actually spend most of their time actually playing rather than 4 seconds of action....jog to huddle....huddle...barking at line of scrimmage...repeat, its not as bad as you might think.
Don't get me wrong, PSU football is #1, 2 and 3 on my ist of favorite sports teams, but the Pens are up there.
The city loves them too, and who wouldn't? They play a nifty, watchable brand of hockey.

You're forgetting...
Seriously though, look at that stadium!! The fact that Pitt is tied with NAVY (yes, NAVY!!) is, in my mind, secondary to the general apathy of the Pitt "fans." What a joke of a team. Morelli would actually make them better.

Who Would Have Thought........
Holtz..........
I actually enjoy listening to his speech's each week. Mark May......nothing redeeming at all for me.
I know it's late but...
I have no delusion...
I wouldn't pay to go to the game either - I only went cause i got free tickets. That's why the stands are empty - they're not very good, and no one wants to see them.
Hopefully Pitt losing can make you all feel better about your season. At least you never heard us talking about "12-0" and "national championship." I prefer to stick with reality.
Hey, if we played, then maybe we'd find out who is really better...just an idea.

If you have no delusion...
Besides, if you swapped us out with Grambling, you'd be 1-5...and playing Pitt might actually make PSU's OOC schedule weaker right now.
I think our OOC schedule is quite bad already
