Joe Paterno In a Road Rage Incident?

This, unfortunately, is not looking like a joke.

It all started on Saturday when someone on the BWI McAndrews board posted this.

Yesterday, two grad students (husband and wife)that I know were driving on campus and being followed closely by a white car. The white car passes them and then cuts them off and pins them against the curb. The driver gets out and starts screaming obscenities at the woman (who was driving), flipping both middle fingers and repeatedly saying "do you know who I am!". The irate screaming and cursing by the driver of the white car continues long enough for the campus police to arrive at which time the driver of the white car takes off. The woman is so shaken up that the police ask here if she's OK to drive. The only thing they can think of that set the driver of the white car off was if they were driving too slow. They were both in some state of shock the rest of the day that Joe Paterno, a man they both admired, could act this way.
If this is the way our 80 yr. old head coach acts....can we be shocked our team captains act the way they do?

The poster was a novice with only 19 posts to his name. He was quickly laughed off by the regulars as a Pitt flamer. But this week it appears the story is gaining legs.

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Penn State police are investigating an apparent road rage incident that was reported to them about 12:10 p.m. Friday along Bigler Road near the Food Science Building.

Penn State police spokesman Tyrone Parham said he could not release the names of those involved because the investigation is ongoing. Additional interviews are being conducted, he said.

"We've only heard one side of the story so far," Parham said.

The caller and apparent victim is a university employee, according to police.

And then this from the Centre Daily Times Monday Morning Quarterback Blog.

Friday afternoon: Perhaps PSU's most recognizable face was possibly involved in a campus "road rage incident" under investigation by PSU police. (Maybe he was honked off at having to toss Scott from the team.) Nothing will come out of this, of course, but what exactly does "not losing your poise" mean when preached to young men but not practiced in spirit by the preacher? And why doesn't an 80-year-old who has brought a billion or so to the university not merit a driver? Can't JayPa do this, since the QBs are clearly overcoached?

What the hell is going on with this team? It's times like this I wish I had some mad photoshops skills because this is just begging for it. Have at it Galen, Orson, and Yost.

For more on this, read the update.

I hope...
this is untrue..This really is a black spot on a program that doesn't need one. If it is true Joe has a lot to answer for.

This just might be
the spark that allows the leadership and alumni at PSU to move Paterno out ... Poor Jay, where will he end up?

Cmon
That made my day.  Joe?  Roadrage?

Wow.

I think this is proof that Joe hasn't lost it.  In a story like this, you'd expect JOE to be the one going to slow, not the one running people into curbs.

Solid stuff.

Were the drivers red headed?
Maybe Joe thought it was McQueary ... or even a referee?

White car
Joe drives a silver BMW. Not a white car.
Get up State.
