Chris Bell Banned From Campus

Yep. It's official. Penn State released this statement yesterday.

Chris Bell, who had been previously suspended from team activities, is permanently removed from the team and will not be re-considered to be a part of the team in the future.

Technically, does this count toward the Fulmer Cup? I mean, he was technically not with the team this spring. But oh well.

Like I said yesterday, this will most definitely go beyond just being kicked off the team. He's probably going to be kicked off of campus.

University spokeswoman Lisa Powers said Bell was put on an interim suspension from campus, which prohibits attending classes or being in residence halls, "because of the violent nature of the allegations against him." Bell has five days to request a hearing with Judicial Affairs to dispute the interim suspension, Powers said.

So, yeah.

What a complete fool

This clown had the opportunity to become a premier college wide out. If he were to make the NFL and play five years he could be financially set for life. But NO! He had to squander his talent by being a thug. Not to worry. This just creates an opening for someone else to emerge.

Lord knows talent runs away from Tuh State Penn anymore. Hopefully Joe gets das-boot soon and Fredo Paterno gets shit canned 30 seconds after his dad is gone...

Then this team can do things like throw post patterns; show excitement on the field; and not have every opening series of the game look like this

1st and 10: HB Dive for a gain of 2
2nd and 8 : HB Off Tackle for a gain of 3
3rd and 5 : 3 yard WR Screen to D.Wheels
4th and 2 : Boone on the punt...BOOOOOOONE!

hey man...

i'm all for it, never once have i swayed either way in saying Pitt would be good/bad, unfortunately all my donations get me are football tickets and letters from the University Library saying that its time to give more money, not a vote or a voice to be heard

With the 4th WR spot up for grabs i would love to see Moye or Brackett step up and grab that position. It will be nice to have a 6'5" target in the redzone or just have a huge target to throw to on third downs.

It will help easy Devlin's pain when he loses his top 3 targets. I remember watching Moye in the Big 33 game do some nice work in the back of the endzone. I would love to see that sooner rather then later.

Play toughest

Pitt may play us toughest of all teams on their schedule annually. I wonder if they would play that good against any other teams? Remember Pitt upset WVU last season and played terribly against other teams.

Bell is basically a good kid

He just got into a situation that he didn't use his head in. Give the kid a break. No one was hurt. It's just college kids being college kids. Now kids carry knives, ti is a product of the times. Back in my day we used fists to settle a score. I think he needs to sit out spring ball and then re-evaluate him in the fall if he meets the expectations to get back on the team that Joe will set out for him.

but I never needed my High School Coach keeping in touch with me in college to make sure I was doing the right things. That line speaks volumes.

We don't need the Michael Vick comprommise in Happy Valley. What's that you ask ? Oh.....he's a good kid just made a mistake....then another, then another, then something huge happens and we all end up blaming Penn State for not helping him more or seeing the signs (pulling a knife on somebody) when in retrospect it was so obvious. Cut ties with him. Maybe its the shock that will make him realize that this is big boy world now and there are big boy consquences. This kind of stuff isn't tolerated nor should it be.

Joe needs to grab Bell and say, To quote Eddie Murphy in 48 hours.......You think this is a mother fuckin' game man ? :)

The kid pulled a knife on his own teammate. That is not kids being kids it is crazy. Drinking, fistfights with students can be considered "kids being kids" but this is on a whole other level.
