DeChellis leaving Penn State for Navy

Penn State head basketball coach Ed DeChellis is leaving the NIttany Lions to become the new head coach at Navy. DeChellis has been a controversial coach for Penn State because of his limited success, but an NCAA tournament run in 2010-11 seemingly assured his return. This is a difficult situation for Penn State to find itself in this late in the hiring season. It could be an opportunity to improve their basketball program if they open up the checkbook, although they've been unwilling to do that in the past.
