Quotable

One of our fearless leaders was very quatable in this article posted on ESPN.com.  Nice job Mike.

I do agree with the last point you made in the article regarding younger fans wanting Joe out because they don't understand the history.  All PSU students should take a class on what Paterno has done for the football program and the university.

Anyway, nice job getting quoted.  It is great being part of the "Popular" Penn State Blog

The Tate Visits

The great Tate Forcier is setting up his visits.  They can be found on his website qbforce.com

First impression is that Stanford is getting a lot of face time because he doesn't need to take an official there because he can just say he is going to go see his brother Jason play.

His official visit to PSU is the 8pm Illinois game.  Great game for him to come visit.

scUM is on his list twice and the Gators are also on there.

Season Ticket Cutoff for 2008 season is....

Just wanted to let everyone know that the cut off this season was 52 points.  I got the letter in the mail today.  I only have 40 so i'm out of luck again.

better luck next year.  It is tough every year because there are so many different rumors about what the range is going to be.  Now that Penn State is on the verge National power, everyone is keeping the tickets.  I hope they don't try to sell them on stubhub for triple the profit.

Top Ten List

So Penn State has made the Top 10 for Tate Forcier.  Nothing to surprising on the list.  This List is

  1. Arizona State
  2. Florida
  3. Michigan
  4. Nebraska
  5. New Mexico
  6. Oregon
  7. Penn State
  8. Stanford
  9. Texas A&M
  10. Washington State

With a quick look at the final ten, you would assume New Mexico really has no chance.  Michigan just got two QBs in Tate's class.  Florida has about 15 QBs on the roster and Tate would spend a lot of team waiting to get his shot.   Arizona State has Jack Elway and I don't think Tate wants to wait there.  That being said, if he made a decision today i think it would look like this:

Stanford
Penn State
Nebraska
Texas A&M

Nebraska is the dark horse.  No firery coach, great tradition, however not know for throwing the ball.  Stanford has a couple of key factors that he might like:

  1. In California
  2. Brother is on team
  3. Fromer NFL QB as Head Coach
  4. John Elway

Penn State is waiting....

Comcast/Big Ten Network

Comcast Big Ten Network PR

It is offical, Comcast and the BTN have married.  Everyone else should fall into line.  Comcast starts airing events on August 15th.

This is great day for Big Ten sports and recruiting!  This was the worst kept secret in sports but i'm glad it finally got ironed out.  I'm sure Verizon and Mediacom will follow shortly.

At least now if you don't get season tickets you won't miss Costal Carolina!

Another Puff Piece

Well it seems we can't get away from all things Rutgers.  ESPN.Com has joined in with another "Rutgers is getting recruits" piece.

Not sure if you realized this, but Rutgers landed a national QB prospect. I am surprised they did not mention all of the recruits Rutgers "stole" from Penn State.

It is interesting how they just glance over the fact that Notre Dame stole 3 of the states better prospects.

Rutgers Chips away

Poll
Is it really a good thing to be "The State University of New Jersey"?
  • Yes
  • No
  • It is a close 2nd to "the armpit of America"
