Charlie Weis is a Whiner

Awwwwww. Charlie Weis doesn't think it's fair that Notre Dame dropped in the polls this week after needing a last second miracle to beat UCLA last week.

"One of the teams [Tennessee] that jumped us had the same game that we had. They're down, they're playing at home and they win by a field goal," Weis said Tuesday. "Another team [Florida] that jumped us wasn't even playing. They were home eating cheeseburgers and they end up jumping us. That befuddles me."

Cheeseburgers? Can't we stop thinking about food for a minute here Charlie?

Not in a position to be talking about other people's eating habits.

I don't recall any sympathy from Charlie when the Irish jumped USC and Auburn in the AP and Coaches polls after week 2 when USC had a bye week and Auburn beat Mississippi State 34-0. Nope. That's just fine with Charlie.

Maybe, just maybe, the slip has something to do with getting destroyed by Michigan. Or maybe it has something to do with a furious come back from a 17 point deficit against a Michigan State team that lost to Illinois. Let's not mention the need for a miracle to beat an average UCLA team that dominated you for four quarters.

The fact is the Notre Dame defense looks average, and Quinn is not exactly living up to the Heisman hype we all had to suffer through in the preseason. I think I would be thanking my lucky stars I'm still hanging around the Top 10.

Notre Dame fans love to gush all over Weis and talk about how classy he is. Maybe they're right, but today he sounds like a whiny brat.
