|Penn State (3 ? 1)|
|St. Joseph?s Hawks (3 - 0)|
The Lions will try to keep the momentum going from their 63-60 OT win over Bucknell as they take on the St. Joseph's Hawks at the Bryce Jordan Center at 4 PM today. The Hawks should prove a much bigger challenge than the Bison.
The front court for St. Joe's is big and talented which will provide matchup problems for the Lions who are forced to go with three and sometimes four guards due to injuries. Geary Claxton is still nursing an injured hand, but he is improving. Freshman D.J. Jackson has a stress fracture in his leg and is expected to miss several weeks. Mooch Jackson has re-aggravated an ankle injury. And Jamelle Cornley is nursing a sore knee.
St. Joe's is running two freshmen in the backcourt, so maybe the Lions can take advantage of their inexperience. If the last two games are a trend, the Lions will throw up a lot of three point shots today. If they are going in they may have a chance to win. But overall the Lions look undersized, outmanned, and overmatched in this one.
