Week 1 Blogpoll

Well kids, Christmas is almost here.  The 2006 college football season is right around the corner.  Everyone is gassing up the propane grill, cleaning out the beer cooler, and buying the hot jersey numbers for their team.  Most importantly, the pundits are starting to put together their preseason polls.

Usually I don't put much stock in the polls until at least week 4.  You really need a few weeks to get a feel for which teams are going to overachieve and which teams are not going to live up to their preseason hype.  But this year is different for me because I've been invited to participate in the 2006 Blogpoll.  Special thanks to Brian from Mgoblog for inviting me to participate in this year's Blogpoll.  He's put a lot of work into organizing this effort and I'm truly honored to be a part of it.  So while I was sitting on the beach this week, I sketched out my first run at a top 25.  After I had listed 25 teams I realized there were still five or six teams I wanted to include but didn't have room for.  Anyway, my picks aren't due until Wednesday, but here is my first go at it.

This is a group effort, so tear it apart and let me know what you think.  Like I said, there's a bunch of teams I left off of the list.
