Rivals.com is reporting the Penn State Nittany Lions have landed their 11th verbal commitment for 2007 in offensive lineman Quinn Barham.
Barham is an unknown prospect from Hillside High School in Durham, NC. The 6'3" 272 lb. offensive tackle will need to bulk up and will most likely play guard on the college level.
There was immediate banter started on the message boards questioning Barham as being worthy of a scholarship. He only tendered offers from Duke and East Carolina, but he was getting interest from Boston College and Colorado.
Reportedly, Quinn attended a camp in New Jersey and according to Hillside coach Ray Harrison, the Penn State coaches were floored with Barham.
While Rivals and Scout don't even have Barham listed as a prospect, ESPN Insider does and they think very highly of Quinn giving him a grade of 74 (good prospect) at rate him the #58 OT in the country. We should be patient with this kid since he will obviously have to redshirt and spend a year or two in the weight room before he sees any time on the field.
