The Penn State Women's Volleyball team continues it's domination of anyone on the other side of the net. This weekend they knocked off #14 Missouri by sweeping them in three games. Sophomore Nicole Fawcett led the Lions with 17 kills and freshman setter Alisha Glass set a career high with 44 assists.
The Lions followed up that big win by defeating #7 Texas in a thrilling five game match.
"Tonight we had a great, competitive match against a very good opponent," said Penn State head coach Russ Rose. "I wanted our team to play hard and smart and do things together, and I think we did that tonight. [Texas freshman] Destinee [Hooker] is a world-class athlete and [Texas freshman] Ashley Engle and [Penn State freshman] Megan Hodge played with so much poise and awareness for the type of match, it was impressive."
Nicole Fawcett was named tournament MVP be leading all players with 27 kills. The Lions host their final preseason tournament this weekend against Tennessee State, Lehigh, and Miami(Ohio) at Rec Hall. If you're on campus, make sure you go see a team that has a good chance of bringing a national title to Penn State this year.
Go Lions!
