Week 5 BlogPoll

Not many changes this week. I think it's safe to say things went pretty much as expected. First the disclaimer: I watched Wisconsin play tough against Michigan, PSU play tough against Ohio State, and Michigan State completely melt down against Notre Dame (I'm still pissed about that one!)

Now, on to the ballot.

Rank Team Delta
1 Ohio State --
2 Auburn --
3 Southern Cal --
4 Michigan --
5 West Virginia --
6 Texas --
7 Florida --
8 Louisville 1
9 Georgia 1
10 Virginia Tech --
11 Iowa --
12 Oregon 1
13 Louisiana State 1
14 Notre Dame 2
15 Georgia Tech 1
16 Clemson 1
17 TCU 1
18 Tennessee 1
19 Cal 1
20 Nebraska 1
21 Boise State 1
22 Oklahoma 2
23 Rutgers 3
24 Boston College 9
25 Texas Tech 1

Dropped Out: Alabama (#23), Navy (#25).

Some Notes:

I think my top 7 is pretty solid, but I'm not sure who to rank 7-10. I'm not thrilled with putting Louisville in there. Having lost their stud RB and QB I'm sure they are going to lose one soon. But until they do I'll keep them in there.

Georgia - I nicked the Bulldogs a spot for barely squeaking past Colorado at home forcing me to move Louisville up another spot.

Notre Dame dropped two spots for barely getting by Michigan State. Their defense looked terrible outside Drew Stanton's brain fart of a meltdown picks. Plus I hate them.

Just as I was starting to become a Boston College believer, they go and lose to NC State. They drop accordingly. Also dropping from the poll is Navy, a team I have been talking up in recent weeks. Thanks for making me look good, Midshipmen.

Alabama is also banished from the poll after losing to Arkansas in overtime. Had the pulled their heads out of their asses and won that game like they should have, I would have been perfect in my Roll 'Bama Roll pick 'em game.

Rutgers makes their debut at #23. I'm cautiously becoming a believer in the Knights. They may be a good team, or they may just be the small fish feeding on the plankton of the sea of college football teams. I don't think I will be able to get a good read on them until they start playing some tuna (Pitt and Louisville). If they survive that, we'll see how the handle a shark (West Virginia).
