Here's an update on how some of Penn State's 2007 verbal commitments are doing in their senior season of high school football.
Jon Ditto is having a terrific year for the Gateway Gators. Although Penn State has recruited Ditto as a WR/TE, he had six carries against Norwin for 101 yards and 2 TD in a 37-14 win. Against Baldwin Ditto had two TD receptions of 33 and 12 yards.
TE Andrew Szczerba had two receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown against Newark in a 48-14 win. Szczerba has been nominated to play in the 2007 US Army All-American football game on January 6.
Nate Stupar almost single handedly won the game for the State College High Little Lions against the Altoona Mountain Lions last Friday. Trailing 17-14, Stupar caught a 20 yard TD pass in the back of the endzone with 37 seconds left in the game to give the Little Lions the lead. Then on Altoona's first offensive play after the kickoff, Stupar threw the quarterback to the ground for a safety in the endzone. Stupar has been recruited to play linebacker for the Nittany Lions.
WR/Safety Nick Sukay had three first half touchdowns in a 34-7 route of Washington High on Friday night. Sukay caught a touchdown, ran for a touchdown, and returned a fumble for a score.
Following up his 330 yard 5 TD performance last week, JFK High RB/CB Stephfon Green rushed for 138 yards and 2 TD against NYC Top Ranked Ft. Hamilton. Unfortunately the Knights dropped the game with Hamilton by a score of 44-18.
I'm having trouble finding information and statistics for Penn State's other verbal recruits. Any information on their performance or links to game stories would be greatly appreciated.
