Penn State is sitting at 6-1 and has a trip to 2-4 Northwestern this weekend. Last year, Dan Persa helped the Wildcats jump out to a 21-0 lead before Penn State adjusted to him and came back to win. Later on in the year Persa tore his Achilles, and while he's been back for a few weeks, he hasn't been as elusive as he was last year. But he is still Northwestern's most dangerous offensive player. Here are the game notes for Saturday's game.

Ron Mussleman has compared the 2011 Nittany Lions to the 1985 Nittany Lions due to their ability to win ugly.

Anthony Fera won the Big Ten Special Teamer of the Week Award again.

Bob Flounders thinks that Nittany Lions fans should be concerned about the team for four reasons: Silas Redd's durability, Derek Moye's foot, Matt McGloin's head and the height of the DTs.

Six Nittany Lions were named to Phil Steele's Midseason All-American teams.

The #9 women's volleyball team knocked off #11 Purdue, and Indiana this past weekend.

The men's ice hockey team visited Illinois for the final time (until Illinois eventually gets a D-1 hockey program) this past weekend. They won both games handily.

The #15 women's soccer team has had another game picked up by the BTN, and they beat Iowa 4-0 this past week.
