Scout.com "Player to Watch": Matt McGloin

The folks over at Scout were kind enough to sponsor some posts at BSD over the next few weeks, asking us to highlight one particular player each week. First in the queue, Matt McGloin. You may have seen his name discussed here once or twice this season. In his interminable quarterback battle with Rob Bolden, McGloin was on the verge of banishment to the bench after his 1-for-10, 0 yards performance against Alabama. However, McGloin has been the better quarterback in the past three games:

Meanwhile Bolden has struggled:

McGloin's eternal bugaboo -- the interception -- has been amazingly absent thus far in 2011.  This has lifted the Gingered Reserve to 43rd nationally in pass efficiency, three spots higher than Michigan State's Kirk Cousins.  With a slightly suspect Iowa pass defense coming to town Saturday, McGloin and Bolden will both have opportunities to perhaps seize the starting position, once and for all.

Yeah, probably not.  However, you can discuss Matt McGloin and everything Penn State related in Scout.com's forums.
