Bye weeks are great and awful all at the same time. On one hand, it's great for the team to finally get some rest after a long October. Guys like Silas Redd are a little banged up and they need some time to heal. On the other hand, it makes for a bit of a boring weekend when Penn State does play (and Joe Paterno doesn't like the bye either).

Penn State is tied for the best GSR among ranked teams.

The women's soccer team opened up the Big Ten tournament with a 3-0 win over Northwestern. They also won 10 Big Ten awards including Forward of the Year (Maya Hayes) and the Sportsmanship Award (Krissy Tribbett).

The men's hockey team landed a new recruit this week. Forward Casey Bailey will lace up the skates for Penn State next year. He's played eight games for Omaha in the USHL this year. Here's how all the recruits have been doing so far this year.

The women's volleyball team plays Minnesota on Friday. In case you haven't heard, they beat Nebraska on Saturday, and having Nebraska in the Big Ten is pretty great. Penn State's Micha Hancock has a pretty ridiculous serve. Like record breaking good.

Ohio State's fourth string RB Jaamal Berry has been charged with assault and disorderly conduct and has finally been suspended by the school.
