GIve me a safety and a siren WHOOOOOO
It wouldn't be signing day if there wasn't some drama involved. Sometimes it's bad drama, like when we have a kid wavering and we're not sure what he's going to do. Other times it's good drama, like when a kid is wavering in his commitment to another school and ultimately picks the Nittany Lions. Today was the good drama kind when Baltimore safety Adrian Amos faxed in his letter of intent to Penn State.
Amos had committed to UConn back in September, but he started looking around after Randy Edsall left for Maryland in January and made last minute visits to Penn State and West Virginia. The Mountaineers coaching situation isn't exactly the greatest with Bill Stewart basically going through the motions of a lame duck season. So today he went with the Nittany Lions.
Amos stands 6'1" and weighs 205 lbs with a fake-40 time in the 4.5 to 4.6 range. Both Rivals and Scout rate him as a three star prospect. His offer list includes PSU, West Virginia, UConn, Vanderbilt, and Temple.
Landing a safety in this class was a pretty big priority with Drew Astorino and Nick Sukay running out of eligibility after this season. Amos stands a good chance to compete for playing time in the near future.
Here's what you've won.
