The class sales for season football tickets were held this past week, and this year, for the first time in a while, basketball season ticket packages were sold alongside their football counterparts. The result?

Nice work #NittanyNation! #PennState freshmen grab 500+ Hoops season tickets, total sale nearly 50% ahead of last year. That's #ATTITUDEless than a minute ago via HootSuite Favorite Retweet Reply

Folks, that's not total. That's the freshman class alone, a freshman class that wasn't even on campus to experience the excitement of the NCAA Tournament run this past season. Needless to say, there are a lot of good feelings around the program right now with Pat Chambers in the fold.

Speaking of the new coach, he's still all over the place in his first few weeks on the job. The other night, he appeared on Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia for a fun interview with the folks over there. He also talked to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for a piece about the "attitude" Siegrist speaks of in the tweet above while reflecting on his stabbing back in 2002.

"Attitude has been a part of my life for a long time, and after the incident, it really took a stronger hold because I had a choice. I could go back and feel sorry for myself and say 'Oh woe is me,' and 'Why did this happen to me?' and all that stuff, but I choose to live the day to the fullest.

"This is who I am -- this isn't phony, this isn't fake. Some people are going to like it, some people might not, and that's OK. Attitude is about choices, attitude is whether you want to get up that day. Don't get me wrong: Some days I have tough days too. But for the most part, I have great days."

He even managed to crash the Joe Paterno-Mike Krzyzewski evenet earlier this week.(via Jaytweet).

Dude is everywhere. His enthusiasm for building this program is really pretty remarkable and something I don't think even the most optimistic fans could have hoped for immediately following his hiring. This coming season could be tough with so much inexperience on the roster, but geez, it looks like Chambers has the ability to make it interesting despite all that. If he can do all this now, it's hard not to be excited to see what tricks he has up his sleeve come November.
