EA Sports NCAA Football '12 Rankings Released

The team rankings for EA Sports "NCAA Football '12" have been released, and while, yes, it's only a video game, at this point in the offseason, this news offers some nice discussion fodder. Even if you're not a video gamer, it's cool to get an early look at what people are saying about the teams heading into football season.

Your national top five is Oklahoma, Alabama, Stanford, LSU and Oregon. Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Boise State, Texas A&M and Florida State round out the top 10. Defending national champion Auburn is No. 12 and Notre Dame breaks into the top 25 at No. 21.

The Big Ten breaks down like this: No. 6 Ohio State, No. 11 Wisconsin, No. 15 Michigan State, No. 16 Nebraska, No. 28 Penn State, No. 33 Michigan, No. 36 Northwestern, No. 38 Iowa, No. 61 Illinois, No. 78 Purdue, No. 79 Minnesota, No. 83 Indiana.

Penn State non-conference foes Temple and Eastern Michigan come in at No. 81 and No. 119 respectively.

The Nittany Lions overall ranking is an A. The offense and defense both receive A- grades and special teams have a B- grade.

Discuss.
