Big Ten Bloggers Pick'em & Thursday Night Football Open Thread: Week 5

The Big Ten Bloggers Pick'em is getting ready for league play.  The points go up and the race usually tightens when it's conference time.  The Daily Gopher wasn't around last week to update the standings overall but that won't stop me from posting our internal results.  Hey, there's bragging rights at stake here.  The winner gets officially crowned "Master Prognosticator" and the loser gets mocked and ridiculed until my throat is sore.

Before that we have another great game tonight when #16 South Florida led by Skippy Hoollltttzzzzth travels to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers tonight at 8:00 PM on ESPN.  South Florida is the Big East's lone unbeaten but that might be in jeopardy tonight.  As always this is your place for comments, observations, and dirty jokes.  Stats and whatnot after the jump...

Some people are touting the Nebraska - Wisconsin game as the biggest game in recent Big Ten history.  While I find that funny and somewhat offensive, it will be a good game nonetheless.  I have a sneaky suspicion that the Northwestern - Illinois game will be better than some think and the same goes for Notre Dame - Purdue (ok, that's just wishful thinking on my part but it could happen).

The team's record

Last week was simple: all of us took a Big Ten sweep.  Unfortunately Minnesota and Indiana let us down but it doesn't matter, nothing changes this week.

Jeff 8-2   Jeff 38 8 82.6

The gang is unanimous on Penn State (duh), Michigan, and Notre Dame.  Jeff is the lone outlier in the Illinois match up and we're pretty much split on Sparty - tOSU and the game of the century Part 1.  Let us know what you think in the comments.
